Our last day to Bermuda the wind dropped to 0, we enjoyed a mirror like sea that was only broken by a slight swell. A bird accompanied us for three hours, flying circles around Guppy and occasionally resting in the water and catching up later. The weather was very nice and the sight clear so we were able to spot Bermuda from a distance of 20nm, which is a lot for the relatively low island. Just after spotting the island a group of Dolphins game cheerily towards us, making a couple of very gracious and beautifully high jumps right next to Guppy before continuing on their path. I mentioned how it would just be a perfect finish to the day if we could see some whales as well. Guess what! As the sun was already starting to set, two humpback whales appeared close to Guppy. It looked like a Mother and her Calf, swimming and blowing water into the air simultaneously. It really was an amazing sight, we caught some of it on video, which ( if I manage to post it) would be recommended to watch without sound because we are all yelling very excitedly 😉 We got into the Bermuda through the town cut – a narrow passage – just before dark and dropping our anchor with the last red, purples and oranges still in the sky.
