We enjoyed another one and a half days of beautiful sailing, playing games and reading outside, bright stars at night and quiet sunny days. We even spotted whales jumping far away on the horizon, we could just make out a dark shape and then a big splash. Last night the weather changed, big black clouds slowly crept up on us as we sailed into the night. It poured rain for hours until it came to a slight drizzle on my watch ( 1am – 6am) For most of the night we were battling light winds and squalls, taking reefs in and out and adjusting sails. The sun didn’t rise today, well yes, of course it did, but we didn’t see it. It stayed overcast and drizzly for most of the day until in the afternoon a watery sun came through. It’s amazing how we could have been hiding from the sun finding it too hot yesterday and are super excited to see a little bit of it today. Yesterday Ronja and Sayaka made a halfway cake – it turned out to be more like pudding but it still tasted great! Ollie has been keeping us entertained during night watches telling us jokes and coming up with new ones. Last nights joke was: Why couldn’t the pirates play cards?
Because they were sitting on the deck. 😉
So besides the change in weather, everyone onboard is happy and doing well.
