Sorry, sorry, sorry for having you wait for so very long. Especially for holding back on the news that I am again in Sint Maarten!!! I arrived on the 18th at nightfall. It was all too busy coming in and I had to get used to being on shore again. Well OK, I will start at the very beginning of it because I have to catch up on many things to tell. On the 18th and at 20 nautical miles [37 kilometres, 23 land miles] from shore, I was surprised by a helicopter flying over my head. When it was already getting dark I was surprised by some speedboats coming over. I was congratulated and showed to an anchor buoy for me where I could stay for the night. This was fine because it was dark and it meant I did not have to drop anchor. Then I immediately went ashore and joined a Christmas party, the same party I was in last year on the same date. This was really weird. Especially because I recognized everything and I met the same people I knew from last year. I did not stay too long and I took off to go sleeping. It is very odd to sleep for a whole night! I awoke several times though. And in the morning I first thought that there was no wind because the boat was lying so very still. It took some time until I realized that I was here in Sint Maarten. On the 19th, I went along with some people on a speedboat. In the evening, I sailed through the bridge and now we lie in the lagoon nearby Simpson Bay. Really cool to recognize it. And I have met again most of the people I already know from last year. Today I went on a catamaran and we went snorkelling. So now on I will try to keep writing my blog regulary. Now I am in a quiet place again and I have internet access so looks like everything is getting calmer and I am getting used to it. Well I could tell a lot more but now I am again towed away from my laptop by people who want me to join them for dinner (here it is five hours earlier compared to the Netherlands), so I will try to say more tomorrow.
Laura and Guppy.
