Well, the rain is gone, but so is the wind. Of course it’s well known that there is often a high around the Azores, but not usually this large or so long.. The sails have been down for a while now and we are under engine. The sea is flat, not the state we usually see her in on this crossing. Of course I would rather be sailing but the flat sea definitely has it’s own beauty and brings up a lot of amazing sights. Yesterday morning as I was sitting in the cockpit a group of dolphins swam past, not just dolphins though there where at least a few baby dolphins jumping happily along their mothers. Sayaka, standing on the bow with her Gopro got a lovely video, the water was so still and clear that she could see them swimming under the bow perfectly. We’ve also spotted sharks! The movement and fins being so distinctly different from other sea creatures. It really is pretty special to see a shark like that at sea so I was quite excited! In the afternoon whale blows on the horizon caught our attention, far away though, but nevertheless a cool sight! And of course a big dose of large purple man o’ wars everywhere. We really have been blessed in all the amazing things we got to see and experience. Let’s see what today will bring, we have 90nm to go to the Azores, almost there!
