Now that I am well rested, I could go over all I wanted to do yesterday and it went a whole lot better. In no time my bike was ready and the outboard engine is now working perfectly. Because of the tides high range I am at anchor far off the coast with some 100 other yachts, so that makes for a long ride to the yacht club. But it is beautiful here and I have already met many friendly people. Really nice kind of people and everyone here has a boat and is an active sailor for real! It is all mega cool too at the yacht club. There is a regatta organized for the weekend and I will have a chance to compete with a borrowed laser dinghy so I will be in the race…Today at practice I didn’t do too badly but tomorrow I may still be the last to sail across the finish line… Which wouldn’t matter very much really because it is all about the fun… But of course it would be fun to be first too … To Abby , thank you for your kind words to me [ Abby Sunderland blog of August 23 _ http://soloround.blogspot.com/2011/08/off-to-school.html ] for sailing through the Torres Strait – indeed I had an absolutely high feeling of accomplishment and I hope that you too will have many more such great highs in your life. It was exactly as you wrote: ” feeling of being on top of the world…”
