I have ben lying at berth in Mogán for a few days now, and I haven’t had time to get bored, not for a moment. I have some friends from theNetherlands with me now, and tomorrow my mother and sister will arrive here. They want to see me yet before I go any further on my voyage. For them it is easier to fly to here than to the Cape Verde Islands or to the Caribbean.I have been given a folding bike so I do not have to walk to the supermarket at the far end of the harbour or walk anywhere else anymore; actually I really don’t like to walk.It was blowing quite hard today so we went to the beach for bodyboarding [boogieboarding]. We have been driving all over the island searching for surfboards. In
the end we did not find any. Altogether, we had very much fun. It’s so weird that I seem to know more about the island than my friends do. I can show them everything here and can easily find my way there. Unfortunately, I will leave all those nice people in two weeks again, but I will surely meet some nice people on the next island I visit. In my
opinion, to leave all the nice people is one of the most difficult things of this whole world trip.
