After a very good night sleep, I am back sailing the sea again, heading for the next Cape
Verde Island, Sao Nicolau. Today I had my very last customs clearance rubber-stamp
and catched up with my schoolwork of late. At the time of my departure, the cheerful
Cape Verdean came again to help me with the anchor. This was very helpful, because
this way I do not have to run from stern to bow all the time. I thanked him with a bag of
genuine Netherlands Drops [ liquorice]. I am curious as to how he’ll find their taste;
Netherlands products like “Drops” or “Hagelslag” [a spread made from chocolate] are
foreign to tthem here. I am going at a speed of 6 knots right now and I expect to drop
anchor off the coast of Sao Nicolau by tomorrow afternoon.
