A beautiful day today with plenty of sunshine which always makes me happy, because it means extra amps going into the batteries. The sea has been friendly and with the wind slowly increasing, Guppy’s speed is going up as well 🙂 We have a big cleaning day today on board and celebrating passing the halfway mark with a big stack of pancakes for lunch. It was the idea of Ash who celebrates st.pancake at home, not sure if it’s actually a real thing.. Apparently you have to put a pancake on your head and eat it without it falling on the ground or using your hands and that’s more difficult than it sounds, but certainly good for a few laughs 😉 We’ve lost our fake fish at the end of the fishing line – needless to say our fishing efforts aren’t going well, except for catching lots of seaweed of which we have seen a lot lately and a few very big patches today. A bit like we saw two years ago on our sailing trip from the Bahamas to Portugal.

Ah St Pannekoek, heeeel leuk feestje, goed van jou Ash om dat te introduceren. Liefs voor jullie allemaal en veel plezier….👍
Ahoi Skipper and Crew,
die natürlichen Fressfeinde vom Seetang
( Sargassum ) werden weniger, für kleine
Meerestiere die in dem Tang leben zum
Vorteil auch fliegende Fische legen ihre
Eier im Sargassum ab.
Grüße von der Waterkant.
I hope you have made photos of this eating a pancake from the head. I still cannot imagine how this works. Should you not offer the fish you want to catch something to eat instead of a fake fish. I catch a mouse or a rat always, if I put bird’s food into the trap – until now 100 % success.
How is the situation with plastic waste on the sea? Did you find also some things already? Rudi
