After a long, dark winter of extreme boat refit, we are finally underway again! The new young Guppy crew arrived on the 1st of May. The first few days we spend making grocery lists together, buying and stowing all of the provisioning. I think it’s fun but also important to involve them in the process so they know how much food is actually needed, where it is all stowed and of course so we can provision for the meals they want to make. It’s going to be them cooking most of the time after all 😉

We also did our basics and safety training, going through the basics of Man overboard, fire, abandon ship. Feeling what an immersion suit feels like and what an inflatable lifejackets does when jumping in the water.

Our first sail was a little day sail to Harlingen to get a good feel for the boat and practise some sail handling. It was all up wind so we got a good amount of practise with tacking 😉

Now we are preparing the last things and very much looking forward for our crossing to Scotland tomorrow!
