I am on Route again and this time I am heading for Îles des Saintes. It is just great weather for sailing. I have a nice crosswind and with only the mainsail and the genoa up, Guppy is going at around six knots. The distance is about 160 nautical miles [296 kilometres; 184 land miles], so I will arrive sometime tomorrow around noon. Right now, I am sailing by the island of Saba. I am happy I made a little effort to clean up the dinghy and the mess inside the cabin because it is quite bumpy here. When I departed from Sint Maarten there was not such a big party as there was for my arrival, but honestly I did not find it that bad. This morning a sailor gave the book “Offshore Sailing” to me. I also received several nice gifts, two cards and two packages which were addressed to ‘Laura Dekker Sint Maarten’. It is really super funny that they reached me… In one of those I found a book about someone who paddled across the ocean, and in the other there was a sort of marine food calendar. Super cool, really! So I would like to say thank you very much to the senders.
