Guppy is still moving along nicely at about 4,5 knots and I think that I will be within land reach in five days – pretty odd after such a long time at sea. I will have to get used to be ashore again because everything about being here became so normal, the movements for example. I think that once ashore I will become immediately seasick, and that walking again on solid ground in the streets will also seem very strange to me. Here the view is of nothing but water, and I regularly wake up after only one hour of sleep. I do not need an alarm clock to be able to do that anymore. It seems wonderful to me that I will sleep all through the night in Sint Maarten, but I presume that I will awake hourly at first. The time really flies by, and I actually expected to long to be ashore after being at sea for two weeks. However, now I find it an odd idea that I will be seeing land on the horizon again within five days.
