Getting bored or idle here is nearly impossible for me. The whole day I am busy with
everything and anything.
Usually I get up at about 8 AM. Then I have breakfast and start on my schoolwork. I am
pretty busy with this for a while. By the time I am finished with it I am quite awake. Often
I have some activities with a few people from the island. Today my usual morning
rhythm got changed. That is because I went diving at 9.30 AM, so I had to do the rest of
my schoolwork upon my return. By the way, it was a very nice dive again. There were
some waves when we went into the water and I was suddenly overthrowned by the
breakers. I was the only one who went under immediately, so I still have to practice
doing this. However, the dive itself was really great and I saw a very big octopus, a sea
slug and many sea cucumbers.
I get many questions in my guestbook about when the photos will be uploaded on my
website. It is most likely that they won’t be uploaded that is why I add all the photos to
the Blog.
Sometimes I am asked when I REALLY will start on my voyage … REALLY I have been
on my way for 52 days already. My world trip started with my departure from Gibraltar. I
do understand that what most people mean is in fact asking when I will cross the Atlantic
Ocean. It is just not accurate to think that my voyage will only start when I’ll be going
across. Until I do I have to wait out for the storm season in the Caribbean to be over .
Nevertheless, this kind of interruption will happen again during my trip but this does not
mean that it will put a stop to it. It is merely a part of my world trip. You also have to
understand that sailing along the coast or islands can be more difficult than doing the
crossing for three weeks, and you have to beware of under water rocks and heavy
shipping traffic. Since leaving Gibraltar Guppy and I already traveled 850 nautical miles.
That is about 1575 kilometres [930land miles].
