A very peaceful day today.

The sea remains very calm so even though the wind sometimes drops, Guppy is able to continue sailing nicely. Today was spent reading, playing games and watching a movie together. There are many flying fish around and we have also had a few on deck. Way less than on my previous Guppy where I often had a complete cemetery of flying fish.. We’ve tried to fish but without any luck so far. So we eat the fish we had filleted on the Cape Verde that we had put in the vriezer and that was delicious. We also had another lesson in navigation with our young crew, as we plot our position on the paper chart every day. With this calm weather I also want them to learn to get a noon sight with the sextant, but it’s to cloudy for that sadly. So hopefully we will get a chance for that soon.

Beste Laura ik wilde toch even reageren ben de opa van Mike en ik moet je zeggen dat ik veel respect heb voor jullie , het is geweldig wat jij en je vriend doen, proficiat. ik volg jullie al van de afvaart Harlingen en als oud zeeman doet dit mij erg goed had nooit verwacht dat Mike dit zou volhouden maar geweldig moet ik zeggen , zelf heb ik gevaren op schepen van 50 tot 350 meter lang en ja wat jij die kinderen wilt bijbrengen ben ik het helemaal mee eens , het is mijn mooiste tijd geweest.

Misschien houden vliegende vissen niet van een relingnet? Trouwens: ze zitten vol graten en echt smakelijk zijn ze ook niet. Dan toch maar liever red snapperfilet uit de vriezer 🙂 Gogogo Guppy XL!
