Without letting me in on it, people here organized the welcome party that they couldn’t give me for my arrival. With a girlfriend from another yacht, I was busy cleaning parts of Guppy when someone came knocking (every time I start cleaning someone comes by – but I am almost finished with it now). It was a woman from the island inviting me to come along with her. The people here are actually so kind that you really cannot say no to them. On an open field there was a big party with locals dancing. It was really beautiful. With drums and singing, the people put on some astonishing and beautiful performances. So up to now I have collected four flower necklaces and three beans, the durable kind.. They gave us a whole load of all the delicious food there was to take back with us. We shared it all with the other sailors later in the evening. Of course the evening cosily dragged on, so I went to bed very late. This morning I did not wake up to the usual rain but to sunshine! The weather suddenly became very nice, after the non-stop rain since my arrival! I guess the weather got better because today is Sunday or because I have just finished filling up my water tanks and bottles.. In any case I’ll have to get used to it again because it is really very warm now.
