Yesterday evening and night felt like I was taking a rollercoaster ride. The waves reached up to more than six meters [20 feet].. really awesome waves. They were huge but specialy very steep and way different from the ones I met in the Atlantic or the Pacific. Until now I had never worried about Guppy being knocked down by waves.. but it certainly can happen here! That was made perfectly clear to me yesterday evening when a huge breaker came over from the side going all over Guppy. Poor Gup was carried down in a mountain of foam and then rolled on to her side! From the cabin entrance I could see the cockpit being flooded by half the ocean.. With a few loose things floating away out of the cockpit, Guppy straightened up and the windvane brought us back on course.. Things are going a little better now, and at times the cockpit even gets a chance to dry a bit.. So anyway I made some very good progress the last few days and I am faster to my next destination..
