Another beautiful and sunny day today, and after finishing my schoolwork I went to read
a book in the cockpit. There is not much wind so Ihoisted the halfwinder. When I
was doing this I bumped into something, and the whole deck had dots of the same color
as the hull… Do not ask me what happened, so anyway I put on a patch; it is not so bad
and I won’t be worse for it . I also saw many flying fishes today. There had been some
thuds last night. They had landed on deck and when I found them this morning, they
were already half barbecued by the sun. I am not going that fast anymore, around 4
knots, but I am looking forward to a nice starry night.
