After my tour of the island, I went back dinghy sailing with the local youth. If there is an
activity and the school is open I can always sail with them. Not many understand English
so communication is usually done using our hands and feet. My Spanish is not quite
good enough yet although I already know more words than when I left home, but still it
doesn’t make for great conversation.
Afterwards when I was putting the Laser back in its place and tidying things, someone
came to me with a visiting card. And that is how I met José. He organizes all kinds of fun
activities for the tourists. Things like kayaking on a full moon night or taking people
sailing and surfing.
He is well knowned on Lanzarote island. He told me that one time he a friend and his dog went
for a 60 miles nonstop sail on duosurfboard . 60 mile because it was his 60 anniversity.
