Today it is my third day aboard the Stad Amsterdam and I now a little about the routine on board. It is really cool. I am part of the Middle Watch, from midnight to 4 AM, and since I am used to wake up in the night it is not a problem with me. Of course it is all so very new but it is always fun to learn again, especially on such a ship. It is just great to come out on deck and see all those sails above you. Even more so at night when the ship cuts through the water glowing up from the phosphorescence *, it is so beautiful. Sometimes it is like a dream. It is my first time sailing aboard a square-rigged ship and on such a Tall Ship too. Just of late I have been busy with a sextant. We are now on route heading towards Dominica, and from there we will go back to Sint Maarten while island hopping. This gives me a chance to see some other nice islands where I will sail to by myself. Actually I have to keep watch now, so I have to go upstairs quickly. See you!
